Merchants House Grant Supports Pachedu’s Work to Build Healthier, More Resilient Communities

The Merchants House of Glasgow is pleased to support Pachedu with a grant of £9,824, helping the organisation expand its work promoting mental health, wellbeing and social inclusion within ethnic minority communities.

The project focuses on prevention and early intervention, tackling the root causes of poor mental health, social isolation and inequality. Through a programme of physical activities, workshops and culturally appropriate community events, Pachedu creates safe and welcoming spaces where people can connect, build confidence and access support.

Alongside its wellbeing activities, the organisation works to address the ongoing cost-of-living crisis by providing advice and guidance on employment, benefits and food security. By helping individuals and families overcome practical challenges while strengthening social connections, Pachedu is improving resilience and creating opportunities for people to thrive.

The support from Merchants House will help Pachedu continue its work to reduce health and social inequalities, improve access to services, strengthen community cohesion and integration, and ensure that underserved communities are heard, valued and supported.

A representative from Pachedu said:

“It is the passionate actions of our staff, volunteers, members of the community and partner organisations that make the organisation great. In every community, there is work to be done. In every community there is trauma to heal and challenges to overcome, and in every community member there is the power to do the work, manage the trauma and bring about the change needed. The community is you and me; let us stay focused and passionate to make our communities great.

With Merchants House of Glasgow supporting our work, we will get better and stronger in reducing health and social inequalities, improving access to services and support, strengthening community cohesion and integration, building skills, confidence and long-term resilience, and ensuring underserved communities are heard, valued and supported.”
