A warm welcome awaits at Clydebank Salvation Army cafe!
A grant of £2,000 has transformed the service offered at the Warm Welcome Cafe
The Warm Welcome Cafe in Clydebank aims to serve high quality, appealing food, but previously faced challenges in terms of being able to cook and store food in a cost effective manner. A Merchants House grant of £2000 provided a solution, enabling the purchase of a commercial fridge, an air fryer and a dishwasher; as well as a small stock of dried food.
David Henderson, Community Programme Manager, The Salvation Army Clydebank Corps, said:
“The equipment has transformed our kitchen, improved our morale, and enhanced the service we can offer. We are immensely grateful to Merchants House for their generosity.”
The Warm Welcome Cafe first opened in November 2022, and since then has steadily grown. It now provides a vital service to the local community, serving up to 100 customers over a Wednesday and Thursday each week on a pay what you can basis. As well as food and drinks, employment assistance is also available to jobseekers on a Thursday.
