Govan Community Project Winter Celebration
Govan Community Project hosted a Winter Celebration and distributed food vouchers thanks to a £4175 grant
Govan Community Project support refugees and people seeking asylum across Glasgow. They provide a wide range of services, including advice & advocacy, food projects, groups and ESOL classes. Their purpose is to achieve social justice in the Greater Govan area by building a strong community based on equality, mutual respect, support, and integration.
This funding was specifically to support their Winter Celebration, which was a chance for people to get together over the festive period, increasing community connection and reducing isolation. It also enabled the distribution of supermarket vouchers via their range of services, enabling people to access anti destitution support.
A spokesperson said “Thank you very much for the good news about the grant. We are delighted and very grateful for your support!”.
