Grant Stories: Renfrewshire youngsters kept Fit & Fed
During the recent school holidays, the Lord Dean, Andrew McFarlane, and our Collector, Craig Vickery, visited the St Mirren FC Charitable Foundation’s Fit & Fed programme. Partly funded by a grant from the Merchants House, this initiative provides free holiday football camps for children in Paisley, offering engaging activities, healthy snacks, lunches, and additional support.
Over the Easter break, more than 650 children from across Renfrewshire took part. The camps featured football sessions alongside exciting visits from Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service and the Skoobmobile, as well as a refereeing workshop delivered by the Scottish Football Association.
The St Mirren FC Charitable Foundation, based at The SMiSA Stadium in Paisley, is the official charity of St Mirren Football Club. It is dedicated to creating positive change within the community, helping to build brighter, more hopeful futures.
The Foundation’s inclusive programmes support individuals of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, recognising the need to empower people and foster resilient, resourceful communities.
