Lord Dean attends ANZAC Day Dawn Service
The Lord Dean was honoured to attend the ANZAC Day Dawn Service held at Glasgow’s Western Necropolis last week.
Led by Reverend Mark E. Johnstone, the solemn ceremony saw attendees gathering from 4:40am in a poignant act of remembrance.
ANZAC Day, observed annually on 25th April, is a national day of remembrance in Australia, New Zealand, and Tonga. It honours all who have died in military service to their country, with particular reflection on those who served during World War I.
A small number of Australian servicemen are buried at the Western Necropolis, and their sacrifice is respectfully commemorated by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
Glasgow Crematorium kindly offered refreshments for all attendees before and after the service.
