The Lord Dean of Guild, Andrew McFarlane was delighted to welcome Councillor Catherine Vallis and Councillor John Carson to the Merchants House this week.    The Lord Dean took the Councillors on a tour of our stunning building, stopping off in the James McCune Smith Room,  his own Lord Dean’s Room, the Directors room and of course the magnificent Grand Hall.

Making reference to the artwork, decor and mortification boards throughout the building the Lord Dean explained how from our beginnings in 1605 to the present day charitable works have been so important to the House.  Fittingly, the final stop on the visit was at our current Donors Board where the group took the time for a commemorative picture.
