Benedetti Foundation Music Sessions

The Benedetti Foundation has received a £3,000 grant from The Merchants House to fund the Renfrewshire Residency Programme with primary school children.

Established in 2019, The Benedetti Foundation is a music education charity set up by renowned violinist and advocate Nicola Benedetti CBE. The charity aims to provide transformative musical experiences and unite those who believe music is integral to life’s education. One of the charity’s aims is to provide equal access to music participation and appreciation for all, whilst introducing some of the world’s greatest teachers.

Director of the Benedetti Foundation, Laura Gardiner said, “We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded a grant from Merchants House which will enable us to work in partnership with Renfrewshire Music Service to bring The Benedetti Foundation’s transformative music education sessions to over 1,500 young people and teachers in the area. We are incredibly grateful to The Merchants House for their vital support of our Renfrewshire Residency Programme.”

Taking place across one week-long period, the sessions will bring nine music workshops to primary school children, working closely with classroom and instrumental teachers and delivering a mass string day for young musicians.
