Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival Event

We’re taking part in Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival programme again this year! Our building will be open on Friday 15th September 2023 from 10am until 3pm.

The Merchant’s House is a monument to Glasgow’s global trading past and a testament to the city’s charitable spirit. How many times have you walked past the building and wondered what goes on inside? And why are there so many ships featured on the building? Visit us on Friday 15th September to find out!

You’ll have the chance to explore some of the rooms in this historic venue, including the Grand Hall, Directors Room and Lord Dean’s Room, as well as spotting some of our beautiful original features including stained glass windows, the marble stairwell and even a door from the first Merchants House which was located at the Briggait.

The Lord Dean, second citizen of Glasgow, will be giving talks at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm.

If you work locally, why not stop by on your lunch break? Tea and coffee will be available in return for a donation. As we’re a not for profit venue all proceeds go to helping local charities provide support to the most vulnerable in our society.

No booking required, we look forward to seeing you!
