The Teapot Trust

The Teapot Trust provides transformative mental health support for children, young people and families living with chronic conditions.

The Merchants House has awarded The Teapot Trust £1,500 to reinstate drop-in art therapy sessions at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. The sessions will bring fun and colour to young patients’ lives.

Grants Manager Louise Downing said “Thanks to the Merchants House Glasgow for their generous support. The weekly Open Group art therapy sessions enable children, young people, and accompanying family members, to engage and immerse themselves in therapeutic arts whilst attending Outpatient Rheumatology Clinics. ”

Louise continued “The young patients suffer with chronic physical conditions such as Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis and Lupus, many find attending their hospital appointments very difficult. The Teapot Trust Open Groups, delivered by a professional art therapist, provide support, distraction and an important safe space to express challenging thoughts and feelings.”
